Truro Sets Sept. 30 Info Session for Preservation Grants

TRURO — Truro's Community Preservation Committee has set a September 30 information session for groups seeking grant funding, opening the door to project proposals covering open space, historic preservation, community housing and recreation.

TOWN HALL The Community Preservation Committee announced it will hold an information session on September 30 for anyone interested in applying for CPC grant funding. Eligible applicants include any town committee, a group of at least ten taxpayers, and non-profit or for-profit organizations, provided the proposed project falls under open space, historic preservation, community housing or recreation.

Separately, the town's Open Space and Recreation Plan effort continues to gather public input as staff work toward a document that will guide Truro's conservation and recreation priorities for the next decade; residents can still submit ideas by email to pio@truro-ma.gov.

COMMUNITY & ARTS The Truro Public Library has launched "Plant a Seed, Read," a new program made possible by the Friends of the Truro Library, adding to the library's slate of community offerings this month.

COMING UP The library has a full slate on Wednesday, August 26: a Stay Strong Cancer Support Group session, a Sing-Along/Play-Time program with Paul Kehoe, the Food for Kids distribution, and a meeting of the Truro Book Group. The Homeless Prevention Council holds outreach hours at the library on Thursday, August 27.
