Truro Preservation Committee Seeks Grant Applications Ahead of Sept. 30 Session

TRURO — Truro's Community Preservation Committee is inviting grant applications for open space, historic preservation, community housing and recreation projects ahead of a September 30 information session, while the Truro Public Library opens a new art exhibit this week.

TOWN HALL

The Community Preservation Committee is accepting applications for its next funding round, covering open space, historic preservation, community housing and recreation projects, according to the town. Any town committee or board, a group of at least ten taxpayers, or a non-profit or for-profit organization may apply. The committee will hold an information session on September 30 for prospective applicants.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The Truro Public Library has opened a new exhibit in its Anne H. Brock Room featuring the work of painter Elizabeth Lazeren Daglio, titled "Land & Sea," a collection depicting local landscapes and coastal scenes. Separately, the Friends of the Truro Library are sponsoring a new season of virtual author talks at the library, continuing the group's ongoing support for library programming.

COMING UP

Truro's Climate Action Committee meets Tuesday, September 1. The library has a full slate that same day, including a Mahjong session, a Children's Community Garden Group gathering, and a virtual talk, "The Democracy We Must Keep: Why the Ideas that Built America Still Matter," with author David O. Stewart. On Wednesday, September 2, the library hosts a Storytime with the Truro Fire Department for young children and a Medication Support session with the Honest Pharmacist. An introductory Mahjong class scheduled for Thursday, September 3, is already full.
