Truro Posts Unofficial Results From Tuesday's State Primary

TRURO — Truro released unofficial results from Tuesday's Sept. 1 state primary election early Wednesday morning, thanking voters and poll workers for turning out, according to a Town Hall News Flash post.

TOWN HALL

The town's election office posted unofficial tallies from the 2026 state primary in the early hours of Sept. 2, closing out a vote that Truro had spent recent weeks preparing for with early voting and new ballot equipment. Full certification has not yet been announced.

Town Hall also renewed its recurring Route 6 safety reminder, urging drivers to keep to the speed limit, avoid cell phone use, and watch for pedestrians, cyclists and turning traffic, especially near the Transfer Station.

The Select Board has a Saturday office-hours session set for Sept. 5 with member Susan Girard-Irwin, and the Planning Board meets Wednesday, Sept. 2, both detailed below under Coming Up.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

Truro Public Library opens the month with a run of programming. Wednesday brings a Storytime session led by the Truro Fire Department alongside a medication-support session with a visiting pharmacist billed as the "Honest Pharmacist," while Thursday pairs a Mahjong session (a companion introductory class has already filled) with outreach from the Homeless Prevention Council. The library also promotes an ongoing Virtual Author Talks series sponsored by the Friends of the Truro Library, though no specific date was listed.
